About Gary’s Book, The Music Interviews
Author Gary Capelouto is a lifelong musician and songwriter who currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Co-author Hufferington Root is a British lawyer turned media entrepreneur who currently is on the run from the law.
Get ready for a hilarious series of back-and-forth conversations between Gary and his Old Etonian interviewer, Hufferington, as they feel their way through their musical (and often non-musical) discussions in this creative nonfiction romp-and-read. Following an uncertain beginning, the two opposites fight, butt heads, and often laugh during this culture-clashing literary adventure.
Written in a clever style and with a fresh, creative voice, The Music Interviews: A Bloody Yank's Memoir of Sorts takes you on a roller coaster ride of fun, adventure and music. Read along and follow their wild escapades as they talk and sometimes struggle to the point of quitting. Their rocky business relationship careens forward on unsteady wheels.
Huff seeks fame, fortune, advertisers, and a large audience for his blog, magazines, and growing media empire. Gary wants exposure of the pop/rock and experimental piano music recorded early in his career in order to introduce people to his new instrumental guitar music.
Sometimes gut-busting funny, sometimes insightful, The Music Interviews is always entertaining. It is also an informative look at growing up in the American South in the 1950s and '60s, as well as a look at a unique artist who wrote, played, and recorded original music during the 1970s, '80s, and 90's and continues to create and play music to this day.
Part memoir, part storytelling, part reflections on a lifetime immersed in music, the book is an inspiring and honest look at someone who pursued his dreams on his own terms—with all the resulting ups and downs. All of Gary’s background, music and songs are mixed in amongst some hilarious childhood stories, a few teenage juvenile delinquent “memories,” some travel escapades, and the always humorous input of Hufferington.
The Music Interviews is original, fresh, and hard to put down. What will the next interview bring? How is this thing going to end? Although each interview can stand alone, perfect for serialization, the story flows with an arc from beginning to end. This unconventional memoir style will be appreciated by discerning book lovers everywhere.
Hufferington insisted on adding: “Appealing to anyone with a sense of humour, a love of music, and a modicum of intelligence, The Music Interviews will also appeal to my fellow Brits and British expats, artists, stoners, lawyers, students, storytellers, movie buffs, writers, Spanish linguists, advertising marketers, baby boomers, techno-geeks, and creative people everywhere. With its mix of unabashed zaniness along with Gary's thoughtful reflections on art, music, and life, the book has a bonafide chance to become a best-selling, cult-classic hit!”
Um, thanks, Huff, but we just want folks to enjoy the book. Happy reading!

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING
Hello, my friends! This ... is Hufferington Root, Gary’s co-author of THE MUSIC INTERVIEWS. I was recently asked to solicit comments from iconic American writers who had been given manuscripts to review. Being from Great Britain, it is indeed an honor to be associated with such highly esteemed fellow authors:
“Hufferington Root and that other fellow have written a blockbuster of a book.” —William Faulkner
“I don't usually speak up about such things, but I giggled and giggled while reading THE MUSIC INTERVIEWS. I will be forever grateful to Mr. Root for providing me with a copy. I hope he visits again soon.” —Flannery O'Connor
“I wish I’d thought of it.” —J. D. Salinger
“A perfect read for a winter's eve. THE MUSIC INTERVIEWS warmed my heart as it provided fuel for my soul.” —Willa Cather
“Almost as crazy as mine.” —Hunter S. Thompson
“As I enter the twilight of my life, I must let my fellow Americans know how highly I thought of THE MUSIC INTERVIEWS. Very courageous! Strong and powerful!” —Ernest Hemingway

PAPOO GARY'S TALES OF CHILDHOOD ADVENTURE!
Gary has also written several children's books.
"Growing up, I called one of my grandfathers “Papoo.” The stories of the Papoo Gary's Tales of Childhood Adventure! series are being told by a slightly flawed but loving grandfather to his kindergarten-aged, twin boy and girl grandchildren.
The titles include The Mean Horse!, The Day I Held a Boa Constrictor!, The Mystery of My Pet Squirrel Chubby!, Help! Help! The Bees Have Got Me!, Let's Follow the Creek!, and What Happened to My Hamster Fluffy?! All of the stories have some basis in fact, as they are taken from my own childhood memories.
My years as a children's storyteller have given me insights into what kids of a certain age want when listening to a story. They want excitement, fun, and a little danger. They like the unexpected in a story, and they like to learn new things. They want adversity to be overcome, and they want a happy ending. I hope all of these attributes can be found in my short stories. I just love 'em."
Look for them soon!
